Artists & Crafters: I Want YOU!

Lately, I've been thinking of ways to not only discipline myself where posting is concerned but to also spice up this blog, which of course is the most important thing!

So, I've devised an insane scheme that I'm calling "In the Craftlight," where (hopefully) every week a different Etsy seller (or even non-Etsy seller) will be featured! Very similar to Etsy's own Featured Seller article, but not quite as lengthy.

And I need YOUR help! I know some awesome artists are following my blog, and I would love to feature every one of you. And of course if I have no takers, I'll just have to start soliciting on Etsy! :)

If you are interested in doing this, either contact me through my Etsy shop, folk.etsy.com, or leave a comment here. If you're leaving a comment, please be sure that you leave your email or some way for me to contact you privately so I can send you the interview questions!

I hope to have my first In the Craftlight out this Friday. *crosses fingers*

Peace out!

The Horrorrrrrr......!

What a weird weekend. Dreary, cold weather, riding on a tractor in said weather, going down the road at...well, I don't know what speed. Fast for a tractor anyway, especially when the wind is blowing in your face and it's 40 degrees out... And then the kind of "drama" that makes one feel like she's back in high sch--wait, no, jr. high...or maybe more like elementary school. Yeah, I think that would be fitting. But at least I finally got to see Zombieland! :)

But, before that, we went out to look at some property. The best part of this excursion is that it was so...creepy. Again, the camera has failed to fully convey just how creepy it was out here. And I love creepy. So anyway, here are some photos of scenes that struck my fancy. They look deceptively tame here.

{Also: notice the teddy bear in the 3rd picture....talk about something straight from a horror movie. WTF is a teddy bear doing there?!}

PS--don't forget, the October Plaid Wristlet GIVEAWAY ends tomorrow!
But there is still time to enter! :)

Giveaway No. 6: Chilly October Plaid Wristlet

YAY! Finally another giveaway. :) And here is the lovely prize that one lucky reader will receive:

{click the picture for a bigger image!}

This soft, cotton flannel wristlet is not only adorable but very functional! It has one main zipper compartment, a zipper pocket on one side, and two open pockets on the other. Fully lined with cotton calico, and the wrist strap is crocheted from soft black yarn. Approximately 7.25" x 4.5".

Sooooo...how do you enter?

It's EASY!

If you would like an entry, simply follow the blog, but make sure you leave a comment here to let me know you're following!

To enter a second time, visit the shop, folk.etsy.com, have a look around, and come back here to let me know which item (or items!) is your favorite.

To enter a third time, mention me in your blog, twitter, etc. Be sure to let me know in a comment. ;)

Basically, each comment is an entry, so if you're doing all three of these things, be sure to leave three comments! :) The winner will be drawn sometime on Tuesday, October 13th, using a random number generator, and I will contact the winner via email, their etsy shop, etc, to let them know they've won. GOOD LUCK!

Post 100: Craptastic.

So I had meant to do really good this week. But due to circumstances I'm not going to discuss, because 1.) I don't want to dwell on the negative, and 2.) talking about it will not make me feel any better, this day has not been a great one and I am lacking motivation.

I have no energy to really contribute anything today but wanted to share some of the items I just listed; buy something and make me feel better! Okay, or not...but you can if you want. :) They can be found here.
