Blah.

Just a little update incase my devoted fans wanted to know what's going on. :P

My "vacation" hasn't quite turned out to be what I had hoped it would be...taking care of sick goats, going on wild goose chases, etc., instead of doing any kind of creative, constructive, brainstorming work.

However, this does not mean I won't have new items come the beginning of January! Just maybe not as many as I wanted, but after this week's over, I will begin on more.

And I have been accumulating more craft supplies than I know what to do with! Yarns for Christmas, jewelry making supplies, fabric, and today I bought some roving from this place--yay! It was exciting to see all the raw fleeces in the warehouse. I would love to be able to take the wool all the way from the sheep's back to a knitted garment by myself (well, except for the shearing part)...though I'm afraid I might end up felting it when trying to clean it...but I am definitely going to give it a shot some day. *sigh*

Etsy Finds: Winter Solstice

Tomorrow is, officially, the first day of Winter in my hemisphere. As bleak as that may sound--yes, I am ashamed to admit I'm already fantasizing about summer frolics--it also means that the days are only going to get longer!

But since it is the day of the year with the least amount of daylight hours, let's celebrate with these wintry Etsy finds.

Christmas Knits

Since my mom says she's a "business woman" and doesn't have time to look at my blog, I should be safe! :P

This is the little handwarmer/headband set I knit for one of her Christmas presents. I had meant to take good notes on the pattern and maybe offer it here on the blog or at the shop, but I had a hard enough time follow my own instructions/reading my writing for the second mitt!

And don't forget--there's still time to enter the GIVEAWAY!!! A winner will be drawn sometime tomorrow (Saturday, December 19th.)

Sew Much

A while back I went to watch the Delano District's annual Christmas Parade. But before the parade started, I had some time to walk around and look at the shops in the area, and found a new fabric store! Locally-owned Sew Much is a lovely store run by a lovely lady with beautiful designer fabrics at a very reasonable price!!

There were so many lovely suiting and brocade materials, and unique sewing patterns that can't be found in Joann Fabric Stores...but my favorite things were the knit fabrics! So soft, stretchy, and elegant.

So I couldn't resist buying a couple yards of the slinky knit shown below. I think it will become a dress for spring.

Please check out the Sew Much blog HERE. :)

Also--don't forget about this week's GIVEAWAY! Still time to enter; take a peek.

If you would like an entry, simply follow the blog, but make sure you leave a comment here to let me know you're following!

To enter a second time, visit the shop, folk.etsy.com, have a look around, and come back here to let me know which item (or items!) is your favorite.

To enter a third time, mention me in your blog, twitter, etc. Be sure to let me know in a comment. ;)

Basically, each comment is an entry, so if you're doing all three of these things, be sure to leave three comments! :) The winner will be drawn sometime on Saturday, December 19th, using a random number generator, and I will contact the winner via email, their etsy shop, etc, to let them know they've won. My Fairy Wreath!

Soooo...I have quite of a bit of craftiness to share. But have been soooo lazy with the blog. {Have you been able to tell? Are you beginning to notice a pattern?} And I'm only going to share one thing at a time. ;)

But anyway, without further ado, I present to you my fairy wreath! Why is it a fairy wreath?? Well....I mean...just look at it. It's got acorns and pine cones and they're covered in fairy dust (a.k.a. glitter), for Pete's sake!! Actually, I kind of don't like these pictures. It is so much more sparkly and opalescent and whimsical in real life. The light during my photo shoot just wasn't cooperating, as it often refuses to do.

What I really like about this is that my mom made the actual "wreath" part from vines she found rowing outside in the summer, and then I embellished it with acorns and pine cones that I gathered from our own backyard and neighborhood.

Oh, and speaking of whimsical--err, I mean, whimsicle--check out this, um, "Etsy-inspired" blog! Horrible but funny!! Maybe someday I'll be on it...?
